ABOUT YOUR SURGEON
Keith H. Kaner, DDS is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of numerous national and local professional associations. He has been practicing the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and actively educating dental students, medical students and surgical residents since completing his surgical training in 1996. He established his private practice in Boca Raton, Florida in 1998.
After graduating from the University of Florida with a bachelors degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, he continued his professional education earning his DDS from New York University. Upon graduation from New York University, he was honored with the 1990 American Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons Award. After completing his dental education, he completed his six years of post doctoral graduate medical/surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Currently, he maintains an academic appointment at Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Having strong personal and professional ties to the South Florida community for over 40 years, Dr. Kaner is committed to delivering the highest quality and most efficient care to his patients. He maintains medical staff privileges at West Boca Medical Center and consults with Nova Southeastern University to provide care for injuries and disorders of the mouth (oral cavity), face and jaw. He is available for scheduled and emergency care for conditions such as facial fractures and lacerations, oral and facial infections, oral cavity pathology (biopsy, extraction of diseased teeth/impacted teeth), TMD (temporomandibular disorders) and maxillofacial reconstruction.
EMPHASIS ON CONTINUING EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY
In keeping up with ever increasing demands placed upon today's healthcare provider, Dr. Kaner remains more committed than ever in his pursuit of staying current in his field. He achieved Board Certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2000 and recertified in 2009 and 2020. In addition, he has maintained a leadership position in the professional community by presiding over the local/regional OMS society, the Miami Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 2006-2007 and various committee appointments at West Boca Medical Center.
In furthering his commitment to the community, Dr. Kaner was appointed by the Florida Department of Health as an Anesthesia consultant from 2007 through 2019. His responsibilities included assisting the Board with the inspections of office facilities throughout Florida for the administration of parenteral sedation and general anesthesia as well as promoting public safety.
Away from his practice, Dr. Kaner and his wife, Stacee, reside locally in Boca Raton raising their four children. He participates with youth athletics and coaches in school and recreation leagues in softball, soccer, basketball and flag football.
